Snapchat AR Filter - "Lucky Monster Egg"
The Goal
The goal of this project was to create a Snapchat lens that not only was shareable across the globe but allowed the user a playful and humorous interactive experience.
Inspiration
According to the survey, most of the users of Snapchat are young people. I have this idea in combination with the current style and filter play that young people like.
I was inspired by the blind box toy, a product that is very popular among young people. People like unknown surprises and cute things. I decided to design an interactive and surprising filter.
The Song
For the background music, I chose brisk and childlike pure music. Appropriate music style coupled with vivid pictures will make people more interested in this filter.

Monster Design
Regarding the design of monsters, I made an extension of the monster world design that I had created. I love the simplification of animals and the fusion of elements with the simple flat graffiti style. At the same time, I also hope that through this project, some of the world views and designs I created can be better promoted.
Early Monster Design
Challenges
In the beginning, I encountered some technical problems in the production of filters. I couldn't make the randomly selected code and hand tracking is calculated at the same time. After more in-depth research on the software system, I found a way to calculate the two effects at the same time. And achieved the filter effect I originally wanted.
The design has also been improved many times. After putting the initial design into the software for practice, I found that some designs have very little contrast under the real-time camera. So I made design improvements and added new text after the paragraph. The background design enhances the contrast so that people can see the content more clearly. In order to increase the contrast between the big person and the background, I made the background darker and added a facial skin improvement function to make people willing to use this filter for selfies.
