The Challenge
The Challenge is to create a 2D animated black and white animated logo for Scholar studio. The main challenge of this project is how to use simple and meaningful black-and-white animation to tell the nature of the studio and how to highlight the advantages of the studio. Therefore, it is necessary to compress a large number of stories and concepts into a short animation. How to make this animation full of creativity and looping naturally.
The Idea
After carefully browsing the studio's official website and admiring their works, I think the word "flexible" can be used to describe the outstanding advantages of the studio. Because scholar studio is good at all kinds of styles, and they can flexibly change styles according to the requirements of the demand side.

At the beginning of the project, I provided five ideas, including a very graphic design style, a more illustration style, and a 3D style.

​More Concept Ideas
After the first meeting with the director, I made some changes and provided more solutions. I gave more consideration to how to make the animation loop naturally, how to deal with places close to the edge, and how to make the picture look better. interesting.
More "growth" elements added based on feedback. I want to express the concept of dancing together and cooperating when the client and the studio meet.
The idea of this concept is that when the client and the studio met, they created wonderful works together, using various painting tools, such as paper, 3D modeling, etc.
The studio encountered a problem and was squeezed, but quickly found a solution, solved the problem through a variety of different methods that they were good at, and finally succeeded in becoming themselves.

​Final Concept Idea
After talking to the director again, we decided to focus on the word "flexible" and use a visual way to explain why this word can describe scholar studio well. I also created a simple story for this animation. When scholar studio encounters difficulties or encounter various styles of problems, they are always flexible to adapt to these problems, but they can always solve the problems. According to this conceptual story, the design idea is that the logo is squeezed, deformed, distorted, and disassembled, but in the end, each component can always be changed and flexibly returned to the original studio logo.
SCHOLAR Studio is always able to solve various problems flexibly, and can always reinvigorate themselves to face the problems that they will encounter next.

After discussing with the creative director, we decided to highlight the "difficulties facing" and increase the fun of animation at the same time. I increased the exaggeration of the distortion and the number of deformations to show that the problems encountered by the studio are various and not one.
